SV Update
9.12.2020

Hey everyone. I’m Joe Thomas, the Adult Pastor here at SV.

We have a lot of things to celebrate.

First of all, this past Sunday we went from having one worship service to two worship services. Just think about this – our first Re-Gathering worship service was on June 21 which was Father’s Day and it was so great to have the 180 plus people here for the first Re-Gathering service. We were rejoicing over that and then the momentum started, the worship service crowds began to get bigger each Sunday to the point where it was time to add an additional service.

From 180 at the first Re-Gathering service to now 12 weeks later, there were over 500 people in attendance counting the two services combined. And, it was a holiday weekend. Wow!

And yet there’s still room.

We are taking every precaution possible to make sure that it is a safe environment for you and your family. Join us this Sunday for either the 9 am or 10:45 am service. We will look forward to seeing you.

There’s another thing to celebrate.

There are so many of you that have continued to be faithful and stay connected to SV by watching the services through Facebook, YouTube, live streaming and local cable access. We celebrate you. Until it is the right time for you to Re-gather with us, we are thankful for you as you are the SV family. God bless you for being so faithful to continue to give and continue to stay connected to your church.

Continuing the celebration…

This past Sunday, in both services, we Re-Gathered also as SV kids. Between the two services, there were over 60 kids and leaders talking about Jesus and worshiping God together. We had guest families that were attending for the first time and Christa Clark from SV kids said that everyone handled all of the changes wonderfully. There are changes because we’re going to do everything we can to keep you and your kids safe during this time. For children from birth to second grade there is still room, bring your families, bring your kids this Sunday, go online to sv.church/regathering and register your children to attend this Sunday.

The celebration continues…

We move the celebration now to our volunteers. What a great job for the past 12 weeks our volunteers have done to jump in and to serve our church and the guests that attend our worship services. It has been fantastic. A big thank you right now is going out to all of you that have volunteered in any way since we started Re-Gathering.

Now that we have added the second service there is more opportunity to serve. This is your chance to step up and to serve, and in most of the areas of service, you will be able to attend the worship service as well.

An important thing to know is that many of our faithful folks who serve are actually in the high-risk group for the virus and so they must be very cautious right now. So that opens the door of opportunity for those of you that feel comfortable attending the worship services not only to worship but to serve. You can be a worshiper and a servant all at the same time all during the same worship service. Email me at joe@sv.church and let me know you’re willing to serve and we will contact you. There are still opportunities to serve in SV Kids as well. Just indicate that. Just know that when you serve, you will not only be blessed but you’ll be a blessing.

So today we want to make sure we celebrate God’s goodness.

God is good.

Pastor Joe
