I am truly excited about the great privilege of being able to serve as your lead pastor. I can hardly believe that November 1st is on its way. Listen, I want to welcome you to this SV update and I want you to know exactly where we are going as a local church body.

Your purpose statement and mission statement is a transcendent statement. It is drawing straight from scripture from the Great Commandment and the Great Commission that teaches us to love God, to love people and to make disciples. But the beauty about that purpose statement is that it has to be wedded to a blueprint. And I want you to know that for the next five Sundays we will spell out that blueprint. We’ll talk about vision as well as values that I believe that this church should support as we seek to take the world for the glory of Christ.

We are all products of grace and by God’s grace you’ll discover that His generosity will renew us in our hearts and in our minds and will hold us accountable. It will create a compelling community and it will make us do the work of an evangelist. So for the next five Sundays you’re going to see this word GRACE spelled out:

Generosity

Renewal

Accountability

Community

Evangelism

You will see how these values will transform this church from the inside out and I can hardly wait to see what the Holy Spirit is going to say to this church. You are a blessed community of faith and I can hardly wait to see what the Lord is going to do through our lives together. Hey, here’s a passage of scripture that I’ve been trying to memorize – 2 Peter 3:18. It says,

But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forevermore.

Beloved, God is at work in His church and that means that you and I have the great privilege of serving as products of His grace. I can’t wait to see you on Sunday and I am praying that God will do something great as we gather together.

God bless you as you live for Him.
