Hello church family. WOW! We have a new Lead Pastor!!!

Let me say from the Church Council, Deacons, and the Staff, we couldn’t be more excited.

We want to thank: Carman Adwell, Mattie Cook, Matt Hess, Scott Langley, Ryan Peace, Angela Pike, Kyle Souleyrette, Cora Woods,  and Kevin Ray the Chairman of the Lead Pastor Search Team for all their many hours of work. Your diligence, perseverance, care for the church and desire to find God’s man to shepherd Severns Valley is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

The biggest question we are getting right now is….
“When is Pastor Curtis going to start preaching?” We are happy to say his first Sunday will be Nov. 1st. He will be wrapping up all of his responsibilities with the Kentucky Baptist Convention in the next few weeks and then take some well deserved time off with his family. Then he’ll come to Severns Valley renewed and ready to lead us as our Lead Pastor. Come On Nov. 1st! We can’t wait till he gets here!

Welcoming the Woods
One way you can help Pastor Curtis and his family get to know you is by updating your personal information in our new Church Database.

If you’ve never registered for a Worship Service read this…
You can update your personal information by going to: Your Information. After you update your information, then we will send you a link to become a part of our new church app called Church Center. You will then be able to add more information about your family including a family photo and also individual photos of each member of your family. You will also be able to choose what information you share with others to protect your privacy.

Registered for a Worship Service in the past, read this…
If you have filled out this form before, click on this link: Log In. After you are logged in you will be able to edit your information and add photos.

This will be a great way to help Pastor Curtis and Tracy get to know each of us.

We are working right now to get everything set up and ready for Pastor Curtis to slide right into his role. We’re also working on plans to welcome Pastor Curtis, Tracy and his family to Severns Valley. There will be more details coming. Just make sure you and your family have Nov. 1st on your calendar.

Senior Adult Gathering, Oct. 13th
Speaking of a very special day… Pastor Emory and the Worship Staff have planned something special for our Senior Adults. On Oct. 13th at 11am we will be having a Sr. Adult Gathering and Hymn Singing. I know our Seniors have been missing seeing all their friends. This is your opportunity to come and see your friends and enjoy a time of singing songs deeply loved by all generations. We will be asking everyone to observe all social distancing guidelines to provide a safe environment for all. We need everyone to “Save Your Spot” by calling the church office at 270.765.7822 or by going to sv.church/senior-adults.

SV partners with HMH as COVID-19 testing site.
Here’s another way God is at work in and through Severns Valley. We have been working on details to partner with HMH, now Baptist Health Hardin, to provide COVID-19 testing at Severns Valley.  Testing will take place in the parking lot of our Worship Center. Testing will be by appointment only for anyone in Hardin County. Testing will be on Tuesdays from 10am – 2pm, beginning mid October.

We have plans to distribute small packages of tissues to each individual taking a test which will include a scripture verse and/or prayer with our Worship Service times on the back. This will be a great opportunity for us to minister to our community during this pandemic. If you would like to help, let us know by calling the church office, 270.765.7822. We’re excited about another way we can serve our community!

Invite someone to Severns Valley
This is a GREAT time to invite someone to come with you to one of our Worship Services or to watch our services via cable TV or online. Let’s not waste this opportunity. Begin today asking God to show you who to ask and begin praying for them to come and hear God’s Word which can change a heart.

Thank you for all your support and encouragement through these past days of being without a Lead Pastor all the while going through a pandemic. Your kind words, texts, emails and cards have been such a blessing to our staff and leadership. We love all of you and can’t wait for what God has planned for Severns Valley in the coming days!

Have a blessed week. We look forward to seeing you this coming Lord’s Day!

Your Church Council and Staff.
