I Will!
Everyone of us can agree with Paul, “I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.” Romans 7:15 (ESV). I don’t know of anyone who likes to be around someone who only thinks of themselves. But, if we’re brutally honest, all of us have a default mode, it’s called “I”: I like. I want. I need.
Jesus’ life purpose is seen in John 10:10b (ESV), “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” Jesus spent His life glorifying His Father by serving others. We are called to be conformed into the image of Christ. That means there needs to be a change from who we are to who Christ desires us to be. Jesus desires us to be more interested in others needs than our own.
Over the next 11 weeks we will be studying what it means to be “outward focused.” Come and join us as we take serious steps to become more like Jesus as individuals and as a body of Christ.
